Take Another Little Piece of My Heart

Take Another Little Piece of My Heart is a deeply atmospheric work built around themes of love, memory, and emotional residue. At the center of the composition is a handwritten card that reads “toma otro pedacito de mi corazón,” placed beside roses; a fragile offering that suggests both devotion and loss.
 
The piece is also inspired by my admiration for Janis Joplin, whose story, raw emotional expression and unmistakable voice became a vision for my artistic career.
 
Surrounding these elements are intimate objects such as a lighter and ashtray, symbols that hint at presence, absence, and the fleeting nature of connection. Together, they create a specific emotional language that appears throughout my work; one that explores desire, attachment, and the traces people leave behind.
